Thrift Store Bliss

A few weekends ago my husband and I took a 48 hour baby-free trip to Washington DC. It was wonderful...having 2 babies under two can take its toll. So there we were in the capital of our great nation..monuments, gourmet restaurants, beautiful scenery, and amazing shopping and all I want to do is GPS all the Goodwill stores within an hour radius and "hit them up!" Not really, but, kinda. So, luckily I am married to one awesome man....the kind who supports all kinds of crazy endeavors. In our short few hours we were able to hit two Goodwills and let me say, it was exhilarating. Having grown up in San Diego, I know the power of a thrift store in a wealthy area. Here are a few things I picked up (and of course the prices I paid)Brand new drum shade (I took the cellophane and $30 price tag off it) $3 and Adorable brass lamp ($5). I may or may not paint this, depending on where I use it. It's got great curves though, doesn't it?

Teal West Elm linen drapes. Not a blemish on them. ($3 a panel)
Awesome black library lamp ($5)
Cool, retro bread holder thingy ($3) I am hoping to rig up a way to have this house our cell phone chargers. This piece looks so cool with our stainless steel appliances.
Awesome monogrammed ring...Not my monogram, but someones. If its yours, please don't write me and ask for it. I love it. ($ 99 cents). I should've been a hand model, note the slightly out-turned pinky. So sassy.

I also bought a practically brand new comforter from Target ($10) that I have already used in a decorating project...pictures to come. An awesome pair of Arden B jeans ($5 )and a pair of camel colored Nine West moccasins ($4). All this to say...I loved our get away..and next time I got o DC I am driving a UHaul.
