Not So Messed Up Paint

Below are the rooms in my house painted in "mess up" paints. (You know, the ones someone buys then realizes they don't want, so they return and they are then re-sold for $4 a gallon).
Master bedroom
Basement bathroom
Guest bedroom in basement (this space is pretty much undecorated, as you can tell)
Basement bonus room

Kitchen

So, while the paint for these rooms should have cost upward to $175, I was able to paint these spaces for about $40. This is the most inexpensive way to get an entirely new feel for a room. And, if you can be a little flexible, "mess up paint" is the way to go. I should say that I probably spent an additional $10 on colors that ended up being heinous. Just part of of the fun!

Soon I will post pictures of a few new gallons I purchased the other day for the new house. I have no idea what will go where, but I know the colors are neutral enough that I can work with them. I have, in the past, even added different "mess up" paints together to make new colors. The key to this is to keep some backup in case you need to touch up or color match it in the future.

The question is...do you have a space that you just don't love? Do you happen to have 4 spare dollars, a roller and a few free hours? Go for it!
